Guest post: If it was easy everybody would start a brewery! (Part 1)
By Phil Chou Dirty Hands Brewery Now that there’s a bit of a lull in fixing leaks (more on that in a subsequent blog!), I’ve finally found some time to put some thoughts down on the build-out portion of starting a brewery. As we were searching for the right location, we learned one important lesson, […]
About 5,000 visitors attend second Vancouver Brewfest
The second annual Vancouver Brewfest sold about 5,000 tickets, netting $2,500 each for four local charities and helping to spread the word about Clark County breweries, said Cody Gray, one of the two founders. “The brewfest was great,” Gray said. “We had attendance of about 7,000 if you count people who came back multiple days. […]
Beerded Brothers Brewing launches kickstarter campaign
Stepbrothers Gabriel Pedersen and Maxwell Scudder of Vancouver-based Beerded Brothers Brewing Company have launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to raise enough capital to enter the retail market with 22-ounce bottles. They hope to use the money to start bottling their Agave Amber Ale which has “a smooth, light hoppy finish, and a 9.0 percent ABV.” […]
Guest post: There’s something for everyone at the Vancouver Brewfest
It’s almost as if the weather gods started drinking before noon and developed a quick sense of humor. At three o’clock yesterday, nearly on the button, the clouds parted like curtains and the sun shone down on Esther Short Park like a red carpet leading the first event goers through the gates of the 2nd […]

The Vancouver Brewfest starts today! Here’s our story in The Columbian and some details: By Sue Vorenberg Columbian staff writer A lot has changed since the Vancouver Brewfest first appeared in Esther Short Park last summer. Guest post: Watch out for the Shadow Ninja!
By Cody Gray Vancouver Brewfest I’ve always wondered why Loowit Brewing named their IPA after a ninja, and after researching for this blog I am now (somewhat) enlightened. Naming it “Shadow Ninja” makes it doubly ninja-ish! I’m not sure if it’s because of my Kung Fu TV series watching as a kid or the old ninja movies, […]
Guest post: Whiskey beer? Find it at Heathen.
By Cody Gray Vancouver Brewfest I’m not one for whiskey, really. Never have liked it much at all. I have to say I was a little skeptical when Sunny Parsons, Owner of Heathen Brewing said he had it on tap last Tuesday when we were out there making the official beer of the Vancouver Brewfest. […]
