The Mayor Keeps It On For Charity

More than 200 people attended Second Step Housing’s second annual Step into Fashion fundraising event on Oct. 5.

And unlike last year, Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt kept his shirt on.

Leavitt emceed the event for the organization and “easily engaged the audience and personally recognized the three makeover recipients, applauding their success,” said Emmanuelle Jarmon, fund development director for Second Step Housing.

Jarmon said a highlight of the event, which raised more than $30,000, was when Leavitt walked the runway.

Collar up.

Don’t worry, the jacket is the only article of clothing that came off.

Leavitt was wearing Agave, which provided the clothing for models, and the mavens question the fit of the jeans and the shirt.

Maybe Big Stu was supposed to walk in Leavitt’s place?

Oh well — the mavens will always take questionably fitting clothes over no clothes. Good job, Mister Mayor.
