Pop quiz: Can you spot the real Gene Simmons?

Image

Maybe the better question is, “Can you identify the Simmons lookalike?”

I’ll give you a hint: The Battle Ground public official has a “Demon” past.

If you guessed former Battle Ground mayor, current city councilor and longtime Kiss fan Mike Ciraulo, then you’re correct!

But what’s Gene Simmons without his groupies? Ciraulo’s lovely wife, Gilda, has that covered.

For those wondering about the makeup, Ciraulo did it himself. He spent two hours each night in front of the mirror applying his white and black mask.

“What was more challenging was wearing the 10-inch platform shoes,” Ciraulo said.

That’s right. Ciraulo wore sky-high platform boots – just like Gene Simmons.

“Where does one find 10-inch platforms and a silver leotard?” you may ask.

Online, from the official Kiss vendor, of course.

“They are the same that Gene wears!” Ciraulo said proudly.

Ciraulo paraded his silver leotard and platform boots all across the metro area this weekend.

Friday night he ate dinner at Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground before heading to a costume party at Burnside Brewing Company in Portland.

(I’ll give you one guess as to who won the costume contest.)

On Saturday, Ciraulo-Simmons emceed the North County Community Food Bank auction, attended the anniversary party at Rusty Grape Vineyard and then rock and rolled all night at a neighbor’s house.

No word whether Ciraulo-Simmons could do this:

But since Ciraulo is also a firefighter, I assume he can.
