I think we can all agree one annoying side effect of election season is campaign signs.

For months, every scrap of roadside greenspace is plastered with signs. Not only are the signs everywhere, but they’re boring.

Vote for Bob. Re-elect John. No on Prop. 81. Yes on EMS.

But then I came across an election sign display with a little pizzazz, someone who takes pride in his or her signs.

And likes to have a little fun with words.

(Please forgive the less-than-stellar photo quality. I was pulled over on the side of a country road taking pictures through my car window.)

(I guess we know how he feels about Big Stu.)

And then…

Followed by…

(What’s this guy got against candy? First Milky Way. Now Milk Duds.)

And finally …

I missed a sixth sign that said something along the lines of making Mielke toast. But you get the idea.

While the signs poke fun at Commissioner Tom Mielke, they could be worse.

They could be billboards.

Like this one referring to Mielke’s nephew and Spokane County Commissioner Todd Mielke, who is up for re-election.
