Dear Clark County Republican PCO,

On behalf of the Clark County Republican Party Executive Board, I want to thank you for attending the 2012 precinct caucuses and the Clark County Republican Convention. Our record turnout at both the caucuses and convention shows the high level of enthusiasm that exists among Republicans for this year’s elections.

More than 50 volunteers donated well over 1,000 hours of their time and energy to help prepare for, and execute the county caucuses and county convention. We cannot begin to thank those folks enough for the dedication that they have shown to the CCRP over the last several months. It is humbling to have so many people show so much devotion to our all-volunteer organization.

Unfortunately, our County Convention on March 31, 2012 did not run as smoothly as planned. I apologize. I know you all sacrificed personal time, and some of you even took time from work, to attend the caucus and convention. The Clark County Republican Party accepts full responsibility for the convention. We do not blame any candidate, their delegation or any group of people for the breakdown we witnessed on Saturday. We thought we were prepared, but we were not.

I understand the aggravation and disappointment that many of you experienced on Saturday, and I am sorry that we let you down in failing to elect a full delegation to the State Convention. We take your concerns seriously and are working to ensure that future conventions and delegates are not subjected to the same issues we faced this year. To address the issues that arose from the convention, we are forming an ad hoc committee to review the convention, find out the root causes for the issues, and formulate a plan to better serve the people of Clark County.

To the Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich campaigns and their delegates, please accept this apology and our commitment to improve our process. Thank you for your patience and support on Saturday. I am looking forward to working with you in our effort to elect Republicans in 2012.

Sincerely,

Brandon P. Vick

Chairman, Clark County Republican Party
