I am not, it turns out, the only person to connect food and romance. Of course, you’re saying. Why would you even think you were? I did’t really. I’ve seen enough movies and read enough books with food as subtext in a romance that I knew I wasn’t the outlier thinker on this subject.
However, I had no idea it would be the focus of a PhD’s attention. But it is. The book that proves it is called, “Simple Sexy Food” and the author is Linda DeVillers, Phd. She has researched what foods are/were considered sexy in different cultures and at different times and has found scientific support for some of those judgments.
Having not tried any of them, I can’t vouch for the recipes she includes. But the information she includes is fascinating. Give it a read.
