Weather forces schedule changes to Baseballism PNW Kickoff Classic baseball tournament
Friday’s heavy and persistent rain has led the tournament directors of the Baseballism PNW Kickoff Classic baseball team to adjust the tournament schedules.
Jason Castro, one of the tournament directors, said there appears a window of decent weather between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday to get in one game at the three Evergreen Public School sites.
Each EPS site — Union, Mountain View and Heritage high schools — each had two games scheduled for Friday and two more on Saturday. Now, there will be one game on Friday and three on Saturday.
The bracket schedule for the Richie Sexson Bracket games at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex was also impacted by the weather. The original schedule had two games each at the RORC at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The adjusted schedule now has games at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday. Friday’s scheduled 7 p.m. games have been pushed to 10 a.m. Saturday.
