Camas No. 1 in Class 4A in first Associated Press football state rankings

The Camas Papermakers are the top-ranked team in Class 4A as the Associated Press released its first high school football state rankings on the season.

The rankings are voted upon by media members from across the state. Seven members voted in the first polling.

Camas (2-0) garnered four first-place votes to receive 66 points to outdistance No. 2 Sumner, which had 61 points. Skyview (2-0) came in at No. 5.

In Class 1A, Seton Catholic was ranked No. 2, just behind perennial state power Royal. La Center was ranked No. 4.

In a curious result of the first week of balloting, Hockinson (0-2) garnered enough points to come in at No. 10 in Class 2A.
