Here are preview caps for Week 9 with predictions and links to livestreams (don’t get caught getting scammed; these have all been validated).

Stevenson (3-5, 1-3) vs. Toledo (7-1, 4-0)

When: 7 p.m. Thursday

Where: Toledo HS, Toledo

What: Central 2B League game

Livestream: NFHS Network (subscription required)

Last week: Stevenson beat Wahkiakum 14-12; Toledo beat Kalama 35-0.

Last meeting: Toledo 47, Stevenson 12, Sept. 16, 2021.

Game notes: Toledo sealed up the Central 2B League South Division title with its win over Kalama last week. The Riverhawks are aiming for a deep playoff run. This is the final Central 2B League game for Stevenson before the Bulldogs transition into a full member of the 1A Trico League next season.

Prediction: Toledo 42, Stevenson 0

Kalama (2-5, 2-2) vs. Adna (5-3, 3-1)

When: 7 p.m. Thursday

Where: Adna HS, Adna

What: Central 2B League game.

Livestream: NFHS Network (subscription required)

Last week: Kalama lost to Toledo 35-0; Adna beat Onalaska 7-6.

Last meeting: Kalama 44, Adna 0, Sept. 24, 2021.

Game notes: This game is a battle for the No. 2 seed to the district crossovers. Adna earned its spot with a narrow win over Onalaska last week. The Pirates leaned heavily on its defense, which it has much of the season, for the win last week. Adna was outgained 229-140 last week. A more favorable weather forecast for Thursday could benefit Kalama, which depends more on the pass than the run.

Prediction: Adna 21, Kalama 13

Skyview (6-2, 1-1) vs. Union (3-5, 1-1)

When: 4:30 p.m. Friday

Where: McKenzie Stadium, Vancouver

What: 4A Greater St. Helens League game.

TV: Cable Ch. 28 or 29.

Last week: Skyview beat Battle Ground 39-6; Union lost to Camas 49-13.

Last meeting: Skyview 37, Union 7, Oct. 15, 2021.

Game notes: This game is basically a Week 9 playoff. The winner advances to the Week 10 state preliminary playoffs. The loser will see its season end. Skyview has won the last three meetings with the Titans.

Prediction: Skyview 40, Union 14

Kelso (5-2, 3-0) vs. Evergreen (6-2, 2-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: McKenzie Stadium, Vancouver

TV: Cable Ch. 28 or 29.

Livestream: Evergreen Public Schools YouTube channel.

Last week: Kelso was idle; Evergreen lost to Prairie 13-6.

Last meeting: Kelso 42, Evergreen 10, Oct. 15, 2021.

Game notes: Kelso has clinched a spot in the Week 10 preliminary playoffs. The Hilanders are playing for an outright league title. Evergreen can secure the 3A GSHL’s other playoff berth with a win. The Plainsmen would also share the 3A GSHL title with a win. But a loss could thrust Evergreen into a three-way tiebreaker, likely on Monday, between the Plainsmen, Prairie and Mountain View.

Prediction: Kelso 20, Evergreen 13

Battle Ground (2-6, 0-2) vs. Camas (5-3, 2-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Doc Harris Stadium, Camas

What: 4A Greater St. Helens League

Livestream: NFHS Network (subscription required)

Last week: Battle Ground lost to Skyview 39-6; Camas beat Union 49-13.

Last meeting: Camas 56, Battle Ground, Oct. 1, 2021.

Game notes: Camas has clinched a berth to the Week 10 state preliminary playoffs and a share of the 4A GSHL title. The Papermakers can claim the outright title with a win. Battle Ground has lost four in a row, surrendering at least 39 points in every game during the skid. The Tigers have been eliminated from postseason contention.

Prediction: Camas 48, Battle Ground 6

Heritage (0-8, 0-3) vs. Prairie (5-3, 1-2)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: District Stadium, Battle Ground HS, Battle Ground

What: 3A Greater St. Helens League game

Livestream: None.

Last week: Heritage lost to Mountain View 48-6; Prairie beat Evergreen 13-6.

Last meeting: Prairie 25, Heritage 20, Oct. 28, 2021.

Game notes: Prairie has won back-to-back games to keep its postseason hopes alive. A third consecutive win, combined with an Evergreen loss to Kelso, would put the Falcons in a three-team tiebreaker with Evergreen and Mountain View for the league’s second postseason berth. The tiebreaker likely would take place on Monday.

Prediction: Prairie 48, Heritage 6

Mountain View (4-4) vs. Richland (5-3)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Fran Rish Stadium, Richland HS, Richland

What: Non-league game

Livestream: Richland High School YouTube channel

Last week: Mountain View beat Heritage 48-6; Richland lost to Kamiakin 32-28

Last meeting: Richland 26, Mountain View 13, Oct. 26, 1990.

Game notes: Mountain View might have a hard time focusing on this non-league matchup in the Tri-Cities. While this game is being played, the Thunder’s postseason fate will be decided back in Clark County. If Evergreen falls to Kelso, and Prairie beats Heritage, Mountain View will be part of a three-team tiebreaker for the 3A GSHL’s second berth to the Week 10 playoffs. This is the Thunder’s second trip to the Tri-Cities this season. Mountain View lost at Hanford 34-28 in Week 4, a week after Richland beat Hanford 21-14.

Prediction: Richland 28, Mountain View 21

Hockinson (3-5, 2-4) vs. Washougal (7-1, 6-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Fishback Stadium, Washougal HS, Washougal

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League

Livestream: None.

Last week: Hockinson beat Hudson’s Bay 48-21; Washougal beat Columbia River 28-23.

Last meeting: Hockinson 40, Washougal 0, Oct. 29, 2021.

Game notes: Washougal is looking to clinch its first undefeated league championship since 1999. The Panthers have already locked up the No. 1 seed to next week’s district playoffs and likely will face Black Hills next week. Hockinson’s postseason hopes hinge upon beating Washougal for a 12th consecutive time, plus Woodland losing to Ridgefield and Hudson’s Bay beating Columbia River. Then the Hawks would face a three-team tiebreaker with Woodland and Bay for the final playoff spot.

Prediction: Washougal 27, Hockinson 21

Mark Morris (6-1, 4-1) vs. R.A. Long (0-8, 0-6)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Longview Memorial Stadium, Longview.

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League game

Livestream: N2 Media (subscription required)

Last week: Mark Morris beat Woodland 14-12; R.A. Long lost to Ridgefield 26-6,

Last meeting: Mark Morris 48, R.A. Long 7, Oct. 29, 2021.

Game notes: Mark Morris has already wrapped up the No. 2 seed from the 2A GSHL to next week’s district playoffs. The Monarchs will host the playoff, against likely Aberdeen. The Monarchs are aiming for their fifth consecutive win in this series.

Prediction: Mark Morris 48, R.A. Long 6

Columbia River (3-5, 2-4) vs. Hudson’s Bay (3-5, 2-4)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Kiggins Bowl, Vancouver

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League game

TV: Cable Ch. 28 or 29.

Livestream: Vancouver Public Schools YouTube channel.

Last week: Columbia River lost to Washougal 28-23; Hudson’s Bay lost to Hockinson 48-21.

Last meeting: Hudson’s Bay 21, Columbia River 14, Oct. 29, 2021.

Game notes: Hudson’s Bay remains in the hunt for the No. 4 seed into next week’s district playoffs. To earn that, the Eagles would need to beat River, then be helped by losses by both Woodland and Hockinson. A loss would eliminate Bay. River was eliminated from postseason play with its loss last week. Last season, the Eagles got their first win over River since 2006, although the two teams did not meet from 2014-19.

Prediction: Columbia River 23, Hudson’s Bay 13

Ridgefield (4-4, 4-2) vs. Woodland (4-4, 3-3)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Beaver Stadium, Woodland HS, Woodland.

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League game

Livestream: NFHS Network (subscription required).

Last week: Ridgefield beat R.A. Long 26-6; Woodland lost to Mark Morris 14-12.

Last meeting: Ridgefield 47, Woodland 14, Oct. 29, 2021.

Game notes: If Ridgefield wins, the Spudders will clinch the No. 3 seed to next week’s district playoffs, likely traveling to face Tumwater. A loss drops Ridgefield into the No. 4 seed and a matchup at W.F. West. Woodland can secure the No. 3 seed with a win. The Beavers can still gain the No. 4 seed with a River win over Hudson’s Bay.

Prediction: Ridgefield 28, Woodland 13

Castle Rock (7-1, 4-0) vs. La Center (7-1, 3-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: La Center Community Stadium, La Center HS, La Center.

What: 1A Trico League game

Livestream: None.

Last week: Castle Rock beat King’s Way Christian 43-6; La Center beat Columbia-White Salmon by forfeit.

Last meeting: La Center 31, Castle Rock 14, Oct. 29, 2021.

Game notes: Both teams have clinched home district playoff berths. The winner of this game will be the Trico League champion and No. 1 seed. The loser is the No. 2 seed. The loser likely will be hosting Eatonville from the 1A Evergreen Conference, so there’s a lot at stake to avoid that matchup. The winner will host Hoquiam next week. Castle Rock is rolling into this match, winning its last four and scoring 43 or better in three of those wins. La Center got the week off last week after a power outage at White Salmon led to a forfeit win for the Wildcats.

Prediction: La Center 42, Castle Rock 20

King’s Way Christian (4-3, 2-2) vs. Seton Catholic (4-4, 2-2)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Seton Catholic HS, Vancouver

What: Trico League game.

Livestream: None.

Last week: King’s Way Christian lost to Castle Rock 43-6; Seton Catholic beat Fort Vancouver 53-6.

Last meeting: King’s Way Christian 42, Seton Catholic 7, Nov. 1, 2019

Game notes: This is a rivalry game. But because of suspensions of both programs over the last few years, this is only the fifth meeting on the football field between the Knights and Cougars. Each school has two wins. Both teams will be heading to the Week 10 playoffs. The winner of this game will be the No. 3 seed and will travel to play at Montesano (most likely) next week. The loser is the No. 4 seed and will travel to play Tenino next week.

Prediction: Seton Catholic 34, King’s Way Christian 20

Fort Vancouver (2-6, 0-3) vs. Columbia-White Salmon (0-8, 0-4)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Columbia HS, White Salmon

What: Trico League game.

Livestream: NFHS Network (subscription required)

Last week: Fort Vancouver lost to Seton Catholic 53-6; Columbia-White Salmon lost to La Center by forfeit.

Last meeting: Columbia-White Salmon 33, Fort Vancouver 22, Oct. 22, 2021.

Game notes: Both teams have been eliminated from postseason contention. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t something to play for. For the Trappers, Fort Vancouver is looking to notch its first three-win season since 2007. Columbia-White Salmon is looking to avoid its first winless season since 2011. Fort depends heavily on the pass game, so if the weather in the gorge is wet, like it was last week, the Trappers could have struggles. The Bruins prefer to keep the ball on the ground, so soggy conditions could favor them.

Prediction: Fort Vancouver 26, Columbia-White Salmon 12
