Columbia River’s Rylie Reeves is 2A state volleyball player of the year as coaches announce all-state team
Columbia River senior Rylie Reeves was named the Class 2A state player of the year as the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association released their all-state teams.
Reeves, an outside hitter, led the Rapids to the 2A state championship with a win over Ridgefield in November in Yakima.
Reeves was joined on the 2A first team by River teammates outside hitter Lauren Dreves, and middle blocker Sydney Dreves. Ridgefield put three players on the first team — middle blocker Emily Vossenkuhl, setter Morgan Harter and libero Emily Paul.
River setter Caroline Hansen made the 2A second team. Mark Morris libero Madison Noel earned honorable mention. River’s Breanne Smedley was picked the 2A coach of the year.
Camas setter Kendall Mairs was the lone local player on the 4A all-state first team. Camas outside hitter Emmy Hansen, Skyview outside hitter Tyra Schaumb and Camas middle blocker Chloe Asciutto were on the second team. Skyview libero Emily Wood earned honorable mention.
Kelso outsider hitter Bella Hadaller made the 3A all-state first team. Kelso middle blocker Natalie Fraley and Mountain View setter Makenna Gamby earned honorable mention.
Castle Rock outside hitter Brooke Wirkkala made the 1A first team. La Center outside hitter Ella Schoene, King’s Way Christian middle blocker Bridget Young and Castle Rock libero Sunshine Watkins made the second team. Castle Rock middle blockers Kynsi Bayes and Paige Kessler, Seton Catholic setter Jordyn Gesser earned honorable mention.
Kalama outside hitter Paige Chinchen and middle blocker Kendal Collins made the 2B second team, and Kalama setter Rhegan O’Neil earned honorable mention.
