Union vs. Camas

Game notes: This is season opener for both teams. Union is coming off a 6-5 season that ended with 28-21 loss to Lake Stevens in the 4A state first round. Camas went 14-0 in 2019, winning the 4A state championship. The Papermakers won last year’s meeting 28-14, although Union won the two previous meetings.

Mountain View vs. Kelso

When: 7 p.m. Friday

What: 4A/3A Greater St. Helens League game

Game notes: This is season opener for both teams. Mountain View is coming off a 6-4 season, missing the postseason for the first since 2015 when the Thunder were a 4A team. Kelso went 8-3, falling to O’Dea of Seattle 35-0 in the 3A state quarterfinals. Kelso won the 2019 meeting 29-28 on a late field goal. It snapped a four-game losing streak to the Thunder.

Heritage vs. Battle Ground

What: 4A/3A Greater St. Helens League game

Game notes: This is season opener for both teams. Heritage went 2-7 in 2019. But the Timberwolves have won six straight season openers. Battle Ground also went 2-7. The Tigers won the 2019 meeting 41-35. Battle Ground has won six of the last seven meetings.

Prairie vs. Evergreen

When: 7 p.m. Friday

What: 4A/3A Greater St. Helens League game

Game notes: This is season opener for both teams. Prairie is coming off a 9-2 season in which the Falcons shared the league title and reached the 3A state first round, falling to Marysville-Pilchuck 37-30 in overtime. Evergreen went 5-5, falling to Garfield of Seattle 36-34 in the 3A state preliminary round. Prairie won the 2019 meeting 42-14. The Falcons have won the last three meetings.

R.A. Long vs. Columbia River

Game notes: R.A. Long (0-1) lost 56-0 to Hockinson last week. QB Shawn Vinter passed for 57 yards. Columbia River (1-0) beat Woodland 22-13. Adam Huerena touchdown catch and Mason Priddy’s TD run completed the comeback for River. Huerena had five catches for 55 yards. River won the 2019 meeting 48-0 and is 6-0 against the Lumberjacks since 2014.

Hudson’s Bay vs. Mark Morris

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League game

Game notes: Hudson’s Bay (0-1) is coming off a 42-0 loss to Ridgefield. Raven Barnes passed for 46 yards and Mateo Varona had three catches for 28 yards. Mark Morris (0-1) lost 33-19 to Washougal. Deacon Dietz rushed for 96 yards. The teams did not meet in 2019. The Eagles won the last meeting in 2017 (48-0).

Washougal vs. Ridgefield

Where: Ridgefield HS

What: 2A Greater St. Helens League game

Game notes: Washougal (1-0) beat Mark Morris 33-19 last week. Tristan Ferrell passed for 255 yards and two touchdowns. Ridgefield (1-0) beat Hudson’s Bay 42-0. Ty Snider caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Ridgefield beat Washougal 24-21 last year, snapping a six-game skid vs. the Panthers.

Seton Catholic vs. Castle Rock

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Castle Rock HS

What: 1A Trico League game

Game notes: Seton Catholic (1-0) is coming off a 28-26 overtime win against White Salmon. Lance Stuck caught two touchdown passes, including one in overtime, and had two interceptions. Castle Rock (1-0) is coming of a 52-13 win over Goldendale. The Rockets were led by Austin McQuilliams, who rushed for 179 yards, three touchdowns and returned a fumble 40 yards for a score. Castle Rock beat Seton 46-23 in 2019, improving to 6-0 all-time against the Cougars.

Goldendale vs. La Center

What: 1A Trico League game

Game notes: Goldendale (0-1) is coming off a 52-13 loss to Castle Rock. Caleb Smith rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown. La Center (1-0) is coming off a 58-0 win over Fort Vancouver. Tom Lambert passed for 373 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 100 yards.

Toutle Lake vs. Stevenson

Game notes: Toutle Lake (0-2) is coming off a 20-6 loss to North Beach. Stevenson (0-1) fell 12-6 to Ilwaco in triple-overtime. Jackson Krog scored Stevenson’s lone touchdown.

Woodland vs. Hockinson

Game notes: Woodland (0-1) is coming off a 22-13 loss to Columbia River. JJ Fuerst rushed for 112 yards and passed for 45. Hockinson (1-0) is coming off a 56-0 win over R.A. Long. Jarod Oldham passed for 259 yards and five touchdowns. Hockinson won the 2019 meeting 41-0. The Hawks have won the last three meetings and seven of the last eight.

Fort Vancouver vs. Columbia-White Salmon

Game notes: Fort Vancouver (0-1) fell 58-0 to La Center. Evan Mendez caught five passes for 61 yards. Columbia-White Salmon (0-1) fell 28-26 in overtime to Seton Catholic. Austin Charters rushed for 249 yards and three touchdowns and caught a TD passes in overtime. This is the two teams’ first meeting since 2015, when the Bruins won 32-0.
