Top college football prospects from Southwest Washington in Class of 2021

The early signing period for college football was Dec. 16-18.

Three local players signed with their preferred college program. Others are still being recruited.

More players are hoping for the high school season to put their skills on display and get more offers.

Here is a list of the top high school senior prospects in Southwest Washington, based on the statewide rankings by recruiting site 247sports.com. The site has ranked the top 196 prospects statewide. That includes 17 from Southwest Washington.

1. Jacques Badolato-Birdsell, RB, Camas

The 5-11, 195-pound back is rated a 3-star recruit. He was an Associated Press first-team all-state running back and a Columbian All-Region pick after rushing for 1,559 yards and 29 TD in 13 games in 2019. He has signed with Nevada. He is rated No. 19 statewide by 247sports.

2. Bailey Meek, DE, Ridgefield

The 6-5, 255 lineman is rated a 3-star recruit. Meek was the 1A Trico League defensive player of the year and made the Associated Press all-state first team in 2019. He has signed with Army. The former King’s Way Christian standout is rated No. 41 statewide by 247sports.

3. Jaylen Fite, CB, Evergreen

The 6-1, 175-pound is rated a 3-star recruit. Fite was a first-team all-3A Greater St. Helens League selection at receiver and defensive back in 2019. He had 25 catches for 307 yards and two TDs last season. He is rated No. 57 statewide by 247sports.

4. Jake Blair, QB, Camas

The 6-2, 180-pounder is rated a 3-star recruit. He was a second-team all-4A Greater St. Helens League pick at quarterback. He passed for 1,136 yards and 15 touchdowns in eight games before suffering a season-ending injury in 2019. He signed as a preferred walk-on with Oregon State. He is rated No. 63 statewide by 247sports.

5. Brody Schlaefli, OT, Prairie

The 6-5, 320-pounder is rated as 2-star recruit. Schlaefli was a first-team 3A Greater St. Helens League all-league pick in 2019 and earned 3A all-state honorable mention. He is rated No. 66 statewide by 247sports.

6. Xavier Owens, DB, Skyview

The 5-11, 175-pounder is rated a a 2-star recruit. Owens was a first-team all-4A Greater St. Helens League pick at defensive back in 2019. He has an offer from Southern Oregon and Western Oregon. He is rated No. 73 statewide by 247sports.

7. J.J. Woodin, QB, Evergreen

The 6-2, 195-pounder is rated a 2 star recruit. Woodin played last season at Lake Oswego (Ore.) after transferring midway through his sophomore year from Westview (Ore.). Woodin has offers from Linfield College and Western Oregon. He is rated No. 87 statewide by 247sports.

8. Dylan Dean, OT, Columbia River

The 6-5, 235-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. He has offers from Montana State Northern, Pacific Lutheran, Central Washington and Pacific University. His rated No. 96 statewide by 247sports.

9. Brayton Osterweil, DE, Columbia River

The 6-4, 230-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. He is rated No. 97 statewide by 247sports.

10. Mason Packer, ATH, Skyview

The 6-0, 200-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. He made a verbal commitment in October to Portland State. Packer earned Trico League all-league honorable mention in 2019. The former King’s Way Christian quarterback/linebacker is rated No. 99 statewide by 247sports.

11. Tom Lambert, ATH, La Center

The 6-0, 210-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. Lambert was the 1A Trico League MVP in 2019. He passed for 1,252 yards and 12 TDs in 11 games and rushed for 808 yards and 15 TDs. The quarterback/linebacker has offers from Valparaiso, Whitworth and Graceland (Iowa). He is rated No. 112 statewide by 247sports.

12. Dustin Shelby, ATH, Prairie

The 6-1, 190-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. Selby was a 3A Greater St. Helens League first-team all-league pick at running back and linebacker in 2019. He rushed for 888 yards and 11 TDs in 11 games last year. He has an offer from Central Washington. Shelby is rated No. 113 statewide by 247 sports.

13. Jake Bowen, ATH, Union

The 6-3, 205-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. Bowen was a second-team all-4A Greater St. Helens League pick at receiver in 2019. He caught 33 passes for 593 yards and 8 TD in 10 games last season. He has verbally committed to the University of San Diego. The receiver/defensive back is rated No. 128 statewide by 247sports.

14. Mason Priddy, ATH, Columbia River

The 5-9, 160-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. He was a 2A Greater St. Helens League second-team all-league pick at quarterback. He passed for 1,492 yards and 15 TDs. The quarterback/defensive back is rated No. 137 statewide by 247sports.

15. Ian Davis, WR, Prairie

The 6-4, 205 pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. Davis caught 25 passes for 298 yards and four TDS in 2019. He has offers from Whitworth, Linfield and Pacific Lutheran. He is rated No. 146 statewide by 247sports.

16. Brendan Feeney, ATH, Skyview

The 6-0, 170-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. He has offers from Gustavus (Minn.), Linfield College and Puget Sound. The receiver/defensive back is rated No. 181 statewide by 247sports.

17. Jack Grimsted, C, Union

The 6-3, 260-pounder is rated a 2-star recruit. Grimsted was a second-team all-4A Greater St. Helens League pick at offensive line in 2019. He has an offer from Linfield College. He is rated No. 185 statewide by 247sports.

18. Brett Gray, T/DE, Skyview

The 6-4, 260-pounder has bulked up since the 2019 football season when he was listed at 235. On Dec. 22, he made a verbal commitment to Valparaiso. He also received offers from Montana Western, George Fox, Southern Oregon, Linfield, Whitworth and North Carolina-Greensboro.

19. Michael Stromberg, DB, Skyview

The 5-10, 180-pounder was a first-team all-4A Greater St. Helens League selection at defensive back in 2019. He has received offers from George Fox and Pacific Lutheran.

20. Robert Silva, DE/DT, Camas

The 6-foot, 265-pounder was a Columbian All-Region pick and a 4A Greater St. Helens League first team all-leaguer. He’s had conversations with several Division II schools.

21. Lorenzo Lombardi-Bannon, G/DT, Skyview

The 6-foot, 275-pounder was a second-team 4A Greater St. Helens League pick at defensive line in 2019. He has received an offer from George Fox.

22. Dion Garrett, WR/DB, Prairie

The 5-10, 175-pounder has received his offer from Whitworth and Linfield College.
