ABOUT NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN: The Navigators from Lacey are playing an independent 2B schedule, combining with Life Christian of Tacoma to bring football back for the first time since 2011. After close calls against Seton Catholic (29-28) and Coupeville (32-24), Northwest Christian broke through with its first win last week.
ABOUT FORT VANCOUVER: Like Northwest Christian, Fort Vancouver is playing an independent schedule. The Trappers share a common opponent in Seton Catholic. Fort lost to Seton (20-12) one week after Northwest Christian lost to Seton (29-28). Ilwaco took a 6-0 lead on a punt return in the first three minutes of the game. Playing through wind and rain, the Trappers were able to tie the game with a touchdown with seven minutes to play in the fourth quarter. But Ilwaco scored with 2:25 left for the win.
