GAME NOTES: Seton Catholic finished 5-4 last season playing an independent schedule. Fort Vancouver went 0-9 last season. The Trappers finished sixth in the 3A Greater St. Helens League. The Cougars will be full-fledged members of the 1A Trico League this season. Seton Catholic gained a lot of experience last year. Junior QB Tyvauntae Deloney passed for 649 yards and seven TDs last season. Senior RB Taj Muhammad rushed for 483 yards last year. He scored 11 touchdowns, six rushing and five receiving. After fielding a roster of just 20 last season, the Cougars’ turnout was up over 30 this fall. Fort is riding a 14-game losing streak. Former NFL quarterback Neil Lomax takes over as head coach, the Trappers’ third head coach in three seasons. The coach has brought some excitement to Fort, which had more than 40 players get cleared for the start of fall practice. Jonavin Salavea, a 275-pound lineman, arrived from Jefferson High School in Portland.
