Aggregate statewide boys basketball rankings (Jan. 11)
Well, the Associated Press again failed to produce a statewide media rankings. At this point in the season, we have our doubts if there will be any AP rankings this season.
As an alternative, we offer these aggregate state rankings, which use rankings of three media outlets …. so sort of media rankings.
These rankings are made up of seven different state rankings: RPI, Tacoma News Tribune, Seattle Times, MaxPreps (which is different from RPI), Score Czar, Evans Rankings and The Columbian and put them together into an aggregate ranking, based off a 10-9-8-etc voting system.
Here’s what they looked like for boys rankings in Class 4A through 1A. Only six votes were cast in 2A and 1A as the Seattle Times does not rank thems in those classes.
