GAME NOTES: Black Hills was the No. 3 team from the 2A Evergreen Conference. The Wolves are not an offensive power, averaging just 16 points a game. But Black Hills plays tough defense, allowing an average of 19 points a game. Remove lopsided losses to 3A Timberline and 2A power Tumwater, and the number drops to 14 points a game. The Wolves’ non-league schedule included 3A Capital, 3A Prairie and 3A Evergreen. Given their low-scoring games, the Wolves have experienced playing in close games. Columbia River has won three of its last four, and then beat Woodland and Washougal in a three-team tiebreaker to capture the 2A Greater St. Helens League No. 2 seed. The Chieftains have scored 105 points in their last two games. QB Matthew Asplund has passed for 1,107 yards and 8 TDs. Koben Jamison has played a bigger role in the ground game.
