2016 PLAYOFF FINISH: Woodland did not qualify; WF West lost to River Ridge 35-7 in the 2A state first round.
GAME NOTES: Woodland finished the regular season with three consecutive wins to clinch a playoff berth. However, a missed two-point conversion pass in a tiebreaker against Columbia River relegated the Beavers into the No. 3 seed from the 2A Greater St. Helens League and a road playoff game. QB Wyatt Harsh was the No. 2 passer in Southwest Washington, throwing for 2,190 yards and 22 TDs. Alex Bishop was the leading receiver with 44 catches for 609 yards and 6 TDs. Tyler Flanagan had 35 catches for 540 yards and 5 TDs. Christian Yager added 22 catches for 357 yards and 7 TDs. W.F. West’s loss to Tumwater dropped the Bearcats into the Evergreen Conference’s No. 2 seed. W.F. West’s other loss was to 3A Lake Washington. The 2A EvCo teams are 27-8 in Week 10 district crossover playoff games against 2A GSHL teams. The Bearcats like to keep the ball on the ground with QB Nick Wollan and RBs Kaimi Henry and Jaiyden Camoza.
