GAME NOTES: The Papermakers can clinch a playoff berth this week if Union beats Skyview. At worst, the Papermakers would finish in a three-way tie for first. The Papermakers have been firing on all cylinders lately. QB Kyle Allen has passed for 1,580 yards and 17 TDs. Drake Owen (38 catches, 673 yards) is second in the region in receiving yards, despite missing two games earlier this season. Will Schultz has rushed for 519 yards and eight TDs. Sunnyside is 2-2 in the Big 9 Conference. It’s the same conference that AC Davis (1-6). Camas beat AC Davis 52-19 in Week 3. Sunnyside beat AC Davis 47-10. Sunnyside is coming off back-to-back losses — to Moses Lake and West Valley-Yakima (41-14). Sunnyside piled up the yards in winning its first five games behind RB Myles Alvarez and QBs Nic Ervin and Ethan Montelongo. But the Grizzlies have struggled against the conference’s top teams the past two weeks.
