GAME NOTES: Kelso returns 12 starters from a team that reached the 3A state playoffs. QB AJ Hoggatt returns for his third season as a starter. Max McDaniel and Bryce Miller were all-league LBs. The Hilanders enter this season quicker and more athletic. Mark Morris is coming off its first winless season in 14 years. The Monarchs only scored more than 14 points once last season. Mark Morris was really young last year. The Monarch are still young — led by junior QB Dawson Fritz — but more experienced. Kelso has won the last three meetings.
