Mountain View, Seton Catholic, Firm Foundation win academic state titles

Three Clark County high school sports teams earned academic state championships for the spring season of 2017.

The Mountain View girls golf team, Seton Catholic girls track and field team and Firm Foundation girls track and field team all posted the highest team GPA in the state for their classification.

The Mountain View girls golf team won the 3A state title with a 3.918 GPA among its six golfers. The Thunder are coached by Ben Matthias.

The Seton Catholic girls track and field team won the 1A state title with a 3.887 GPA among its 19 participants. The Cougars are coached by Jaysun Pyatt.

The Firm Foundation girls track and field team won the 1B state title with a 3.932 GPA among its eight participants. The Eagles are coached by Tim Snell.
