LAST WEEK: Hoquiam beat Forks 55-22; King’s Way Christian beat Benson 47-0
GAME NOTES: Hoquiam is the No. 2 team from the 1A Evergreen Conference; King’s Way Christian is the No. 2 team from the Trico League. Hoquiam’s three losses have come to 1A Montesano (9-0), 1A La Center (8-1) and 2A W.F. West (8-1). The Grizzlies also have win a 48-40 win over 2A Hockinson (7-2). The two teams have common opponents in Stevenson, La Center, Elma and Forks. Hoquiam beat Stevenson (35-14), Elma (46-7) and Forks (55-22) while falling to La Center (30-6). King’s Way beat Elma (49-13) and Forks (42-28) while losing to La Center (26-24) and Stevenson (19-18).The Knights are 7-0 on turf fields and 0-2 on grass fields this season. Three-sport standout Artimus Johnson leads the Grizzlies. He’s coming off a 225-yard game against Forks. His most impressive game may be the 165-yard game he had against a tough Montesano squad. The Grizzlies have had huge second halves against Hockinson and Forks the past two weeks. Hoquiam has been using a left-handed coach to emulate King’s Way QB Liam Nabors, who has passed for 2,086 yards and 27 TDs. Matt Garrison leads the Knights 36 catches for 712 yards and 13 TDs. Jonathan Stell, one of many Seton Catholic students making big contributions to the Knights program this season, is the leading rusher with 609 yards and 7 TDs.
