LAST WEEK: Washougal idle; Tumwater beat W.F. West 42-0.

GAME NOTES:  Washougal is playing in its first playoff game since 2007, when the Panthers lost to Tumwater 52-15. Washougal didn’t play last week after Rainier (Wash.) forfeited because it only had 14 healthy players. Including the forfeit win, Washougal has won three games in a row. The Panthers have won five of their last six. QB Ryan Stevens has 1,069 passing yards and 6 TDs in eight games. The defense has been solid all season, holding teams to 19 points or fewer in every win. However, in losses, opponents have scored at least 28 points. Tumwater is the No. 2 team in Class 2A and a state contender. Head coach Sid Otton is retiring after this season – his 49th – in which he has piled up 392 wins and six state titles.The coach’s grandson, Cade Otton, is the Thunderbirds’ top player, a tight end/linebacker who has committed to the University of Washington.
