Prep football preview: Prairie vs. Heritage
NON-LEAGUE GAME
WHEN, WHERE: 7 p.m. Friday at McKenzie Stadium, Vancouver
LAST YEAR: Prairie 3-6; Heritage 2-7.
GAME NOTES: This is the third season in a row the Falcons and Timberwolves have opened the season against each other. Heritage won the two previous meetings, including 17-16 win last year at Prairie. Both teams have second-year coaches looking to build off successes in Year 1, and both had several close losses that masked their less-than-stellar records. Kevin Aguirre, who rushed for 490 yards and passed for 562, leads the Prairie offense. The Falcons return eight starters on offense, including three all-leaguers on the line. Junior Carson Slagle, who rushed for 446 yards, returns at RB. For Heritage, senior Gavin Lee, who passed for more than 1,000 yards last season, will move to receiver, and junior Michael Taras takes over at QB. Tashiem Hurse moves to WR to RB. All-league lineman White Sosene anchors the defense.
