LAST YEAR: Fort Vancouver 2-8; King’s Way Christian 5-3.

GAME NOTES: Fort Vancouver returns experience in key positions. Junior QB Erik Coppinger passed for 976 yards and 9 TDs, junior RB T.J. Willingham rushed for 578 yards and 8 TDs, senior WR Kyron Lowe-Ash caught 32 passes for 429 yards and 4 TDs. Depth remains an issue for Fort. King’s Way Christian is playing its first season as a full-fledged 1A program, after playing as a 1A independent last season. One of the Knights’ wins last season was a 56-41 victory over the Trappers. Colby Davies is the new head coach. He was the offensive coordinator last season. Senior QB Liam Nabors passed for 2,029 yards and 22 TDs in eight games. His top target also returns in senior WR Matt Garrison (41 catches, 767 yards, 8 TDs). The Knights also get some help when Seton Catholic opted to fold its program into King’s Way Christian’s.
