GAME NOTES: Beaverton is a member of the Oregon 6A Metro League. … The Beavers went 9-3 last season, finishing second in the Metro. The Beavers won two state playoff games before losing to league-rival Jesuit in the quarterfinals 70-14. The Beavers lost several all-league players to graduation, including QB Sam Noyer who is now at Colorado. Stepping into his place is all-league slotback Carson Crawford who has previous QB experience. Also keep an eye on lineman Jackson Platt, LB Jacob Williams, WR Mataio Talalemotu and speedster Anthony Albright at RB. Battle Ground tied for second in the 4A Greater St. Helens League last year at 4-2, then won a three-team tiebreaker to claim the No. 2 berth to the state preliminary playoff. The Tigers beat Kentlake 35-16 before falling to eventual state champion Gonzaga Prep 42-14 in the state playoffs. The Tigers return three key all-league performers on offense in QB Gunner Talkington, RB Curtis Stradley and WR Max Randle, plus Portland State-bound lineman Brody Brick. The Tigers scored at least 31 points in their eight wins, and scored 34 points total in their three losses.
