Trio of local players selected to all-state basketball games

Three local high school seniors have been selected to participate in state all-star series this weekend.

Denis Kirichenko of Union was selected for the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association All-State Games set for Saturday at Mountlake Terrace High School. Kirchenko was picked for the 4A team.

The 3A-4A game will be at 6 p.m. The event starts with the 1B-2B game at 2 p.m., followed by the 1A-2A game at 4 p.m.

Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students with ASB and children under 12.

Alyssa Blankenship of Washougal and Jessica Flanagan of Woodland were picked for the 2A team for the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State Games, which will be played Saturday at King’s High School in Seattle.

The event starts with the 1B-2B game at 2 p.m., 1A-2A at 4 p.m. and 3A-4A at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for students and seniors.

The Les Schwab Roundball Shootout, the senior all-star series for Southwest Washington, is scheduled for Sunday at Clark College. Rosters have not been announced yet.
