Players to watch: Capital RB Willie Broxton Jr. rushed for 110 yards in last week’s playoff-clinching win; Columbia River QB Garrett McKee is a triple threat. He passed for 135 and a TD last week, rushed for 80 and a TD and kicked a field goal and three PATs.
Game notes: The winner of this game will host the Juanita-Oak Harbor winner in the state first-round. .. Capital of Olympia finished tied for third in the 3A Narrows League at 4-3. .. The Cougars opened the season 0-3 and 1-5. They won their last three, including the last two by a margin 80-7. … Capital QB Cody Jenkins returned last week after missing six games. He passed for 88 yards and two TDs. … Columbia River won three of its last four, all league games. River RB Hunter Pearson rushed for 147 yards on 11 carries last week. The two teams have one common opponent: Tumwater. Capital lost 42-9 in Week 1; Columbia River lost 54-14 in Week 5. Both teams have struggled on defense at times this season, but have been much improved in recent weeks.
