Prep football preview: Skyview vs. Union
SKYVIEW (6-2, 3-2) vs. UNION (4-4, 2-3)
4A Greater St. Helens League game
When, where: 4:30 p.m. Friday; McKenzie Stadium, Evergreen HS, Vancouver
Internet radio: elisportsnetwork.com
Last week: Skyview beat Evergreen 49-6; Union lost to Battle Ground 31-0
Last meeting: Union won 21-14 in 2014.
Players to watch: Skyview RB Blake Ingram has rushed for 774 yards and 14 TDs this season; Union WR Keithen Shepard has caught 41 passes for 687 yards and 5 TDs this season.
Game notes: Skyview can clinch the No. 2 seed to the Week 10 playoffs with a win and a Mountain View loss. A win and a Mountain View win would put the Storm into a three-team tiebreaker for the final two playoffs spots on Monday in Camas. A loss eliminates the Storm. Union was eliminated from the playoffs with its loss last week to Battle Ground. It is the first time since Union’s first year of varsity football in 2007 that the Titans will not advance to the postseason. Skyview has made the postseason every year since 2005. Union is a battling some injuries as the Titans finish the season.
The Prep Proletariat says: Even at full strength, this would be a tough matchup for the Titans. Skyview gets the job done. SKYVIEW 35, UNION 14
Score Czar says: Skyview 33, Union 13
