Prep football preview: Skyview vs. Mountain View
SKYVIEW (4-1, 2-1) vs. MOUNTAIN VIEW (4-1, 1-1)
4A Greater St. Helens League game
When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday; McKenzie Stadium, Evergreen HS, Vancouver
Internet radio: elisportsnetwork.com
Last week: Skyview lost to Camas 41-10; Mountain View beat Bethel 42-28.
Last meeting: Skyview won 31-0 in 2014.
Players to watch: Skyview QB Brody Barnum has passed for 840 yards and 8 TDs; Mountain View RB Preston Jones is the first 1,000-yard rusher of the season in Southwest Washington. He has gained 1,012 and 14 TDs.
Game notes: After averaging 28 carries in his first three games, Skyview RB Blake Ingram has received just 14 total carries in the past two games. Mountain View has given up almost 1,000 passing yards over its past two games, so Barnum could be in a position for a big game. Barnum is completing 47 percent of his passes, but he averages 14 yards a completion. Jones has rushed for at least 195 yards over the past four games. Mountain View’s last win over Skyview came in 2005.
The Prep Proletariat says: “Playing the connect-the-results game again, it should point us towards a Skyview win. But the Storm’s ability to slow Battle Ground’s passing game and their ability to stop the Thunder running are two different things. MOUNTAIN VIEW 37, SKYVIEW 34”
Score Czar says: Skyview 32, Mountain View 27
