Prep football preview: Mountain View vs. Auburn
MOUNTAIN VIEW (3-6) vs. AUBURN (6-4)
When, where: 4 p.m., Saturday; Husky Stadium, University of Washington, Seattle
Internet radio: Elisportsnetwork.com
Last meeting: Auburn won 31-21 in 2014
Players to watch: Mountain View RB Preston Jones rushed for 1,351 yards and 16 TDs last season; Auburn OL/DL Demetreus Taua (6-0, 285) brings size and experience to the line for the Trojans.
Game notes: Jones missed the meeting last season with the Trojans. He then rushed for at least 90 yards in the final eight games of the season for the Thunder. And he has his entire offensive line back, plus more. Auburn coach Gordon Elliott, in his 14th year, always has the Trojans ready to play. Auburn was eliminated in the state preliminary round last season. The bulk of Auburn’s experience is on the defensive side of the back, but lack experience on the offensive line.
The Prep Proletariat says: Mountain View’s strength is Auburn’s weak spot — the offensive line. That, and with Preston Jones in the lineup, should be enough to propel the Thunder. MOUNTAIN VIEW 35, AUBURN 21”
