Results of preseason prep football fans polls
OK, the votes are in. Thanks to all the fans who took part in our preseason prep football poll of the prediction order of finish in the four Southwest Washington leagues.
We list the results of those polls below, compared with The Columbian staff predictions made earlier in August.
Now, admittedly, if The Columbian staff had to do their predictions all over, the results might be different. Our predictions were made before fall practices started, and it’s sort of “If we knew then what we know now” kind of thing.
But we’ll stick by them. And the fans’ picks weren’t too far off from ours. In fact, in the 3A GSHL and 1A Trico, they were the same.
So compare, contrast, discuss and debate.
The numbers next to teams in the fans’ vote indicate the average position of each team. In the 4A GSHL and 2A GSHL, a 7.0 is the max score, 4.0 in in 3A GSHL, 6.0 in 1A Trico.
Oh, and for when people ask us “Why don’t you cover the small schools like you cover the big schools?” We had 301 votes cast in the 4A GSHL, 129 in the 3A GSHL, 91 in the 2A GSHL and 81 in the 1A Trico.
