After receiving five of nine first-place votes last week in the State Coaches Poll, conducted by the Tacoma News-Tribune, the Camas football team is now an unanimous pick for the No. 1 team in the state.

The Papermakers also remain the top-ranked team in Class 4A according to the Seattle Times and News Tribune polls.

In the coaches poll, Camas is No. 1 and Union moved up to No. 4 in the 4A poll. Prairie received one point in the 3A poll. Mark Morris is No. 8 at 2A. And Woodland is No. 5 and La Center No. 9 at Class 1A.

And apparently the state’s coaches think more highly of Southwest Washington football than media outlets.

In the TNT’s rankings by staffer Todd Milles, Camas is No. 1 and Union is No. 6 at 4A. No Southwest Washington team is in the 3A or 2A rankings, and Woodland is No. 5 at 1A. For full rankings, click here.

The Seattle Times is not yet impressed by Union. The Times has Camas at No. 1 at 4A. No other Southwest Washington teams cracked the top 10 at 4A, 3A or 2A. The Times don’t rank teams below Class 2A. For the full list, click here.
