Thorpe, Golberg, McCann help Baker win All-State Baseball
Patrick Thorpe threw three innings of relief and Columbia River’s Oscar Golberg went 2 for 4 to help Team Baker beat Team Rainier 7-2 in the championship game Sunday of the All-State Baseball Series in Yakmia. Team Adams beat Team St. Helens 7-3 in Sunday’s consolation game.
On Saturday, Columbia River’s Michael McCann, who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners last week, went 2 for 4 with a run scored in Team Baker’s 9-3 win over Team Adams. Heritage’s Dakota Clevidence went 3 for 3 with a double, run and RBI in Team St. Helens’ loss to Team Rainier on Saturday. Mountain View’s J.T. Kaul threw three innings of relief for Team Rainier.
Also participating in the series was infielder Joe Siegel of Ridgefield (Team Adams) and infielder Seaver Whalen of Union (Team St. Helens).
