Track And Field Rocks

One of the great things about covering the state track and field meet is that there’s always something good to write about. At least there is if you’re covering Clark County. Over three exhausting days last week at the Class 2A, 3A, 4A track meets, I covered 10 champions and nine runners-up. Which made me thankful I don’t work for the Everett Herald.

The Herald has roughly the same circulation as The Columbian and covers roughly the same number of high schools. But when I wasn’t down near the track interviewing athletes, I was sharing a work room with two reporters from the Herald, and I discovered that their athletes didn’t have nearly as much success as those from Clark County.

Don’t know the reason for that. But it’s a tribute to our local athletes and coaches.
