Kara Patterson Is On An Internet Near You
Vancouver Olympian Kara Patterson now has a blog on the U.S. Olympic team’s Web site. That would automatically raise the friendly/upbeat/funny quotient for any Web site.
In her latest post, Kara explains some of the details for how professional track and field works. Such as, yes, they do compete during the three years between Olympics Games.
Writes Kara: “It’s so difficult sometimes to get people to understand professional track and field that I’m tempted to lie and say that yes, I am in fact a basketball player, because YES, I’m SO TALL.”
Patterson is the American record-holder in women’s javelin and the three-time defending national champion in the event. Her season begins in earnest May 26 at at a Diamond League meet in Rome, and she is planning to compete at the Prefontaine Classic on June 4 in Eugene.
This year’s national championships — which serve as the qualifier for the World Championships in August — are June 23-26 in Eugene.
