Wolverine running for B.G. Council?

Battle Ground’s city government has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to celebrity look-alikes.

As my colleague Andrea Damewood pointed out in this March 25 article, Mayor Mike Ciraulo resembles Mel Gibson and councilman Alex Reinhold resembles Alfred Molina.

As I learned earlier this week when I emailed council candidate Philip L. Johnson seeking his photo, there could soon be another celebrity spitting image joining Gibson and Molina, um, Ciraulo and Reinhold.

Johnson, who is challenging incumbent Chris Regan, wrote me back, “I look just like Hugh Jackman, so if you have a file picture of him that would be fine. If you don’t, I have attached one of me to use.”

The following photo was attached:

Australian actor Hugh Jackman is best known for playing the character Wolverine in the X-Men comic book movies. Here he is sans Wolverine’s beast-like facial hair and claws:

It’s nice to see Johnson has a sense of humor in the buildup to the Nov. 8 general election.

With Johnson’s Jackman answer in mind, who would you describe as your look-alike? Or better yet, who would play you in a movie about your life?

My answer? Louis C.K. (Just for the second question, though.)

Louis C.K. is older than me, balder than me, and more out of shape than me. But his show “Louie” on FX is also one of TV’s funniest and most insightful programs. Plus, there aren’t many male gingers doing big things in Hollywood these days. I think Louis C.K. has the range to play a twentysomething, but that’s just a guess.
