The bowl is mighty
Thanks to Karen Savage/City of Vancouver
I wrote/lamented in a story last year that while Portland’s downtown office workers were swimming in a sea of food cart choices, us up here in the Couve, we’re stuck with nothing.
Until this week. Ladies and gentleman, The Mighty Bowl is here.
I’m going to do a story next week about the owners, and what they had to do to get started, and all that jazz.
But I had to blog that the truck was parked from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in front of City Hall — and a stone’s throw from The Columbian.
We mavens went and grabbed some of their signature brown rice, black bean, avocado, salsa, sour cream and cheese bowls — all with a sauce of your choice — at about 11:45 a.m.
And who did we see queued up behind us? Big bad code guy himself, Chad Eiken (that’s him on the left):
The Vancouver Downtown Association’s Lee Rafferty was also in line, as were other city employees and at least six other newsroom staffers.
I know the verdict here was that it’s pretty darn delicious.
Check it out — they move around, so visit their website, Twitter or Facebook accounts (or call the number on the truck 360-602-BOWL) to find out where they are every day.
