Planting trees with Timbers

The first stop in the Portland Timbers’ six-city “Dribble Oregon” tour was actually in Washington.

Players met with members of the Timbers Army Northern Alliance for a tree planting Saturday in the Meadow Homes neighborhood, south of Fourth Plain Boulevard and west of Andresen Road.

Approximately 20 volunteers showed up for the event, which was coordinated by the city’s urban forestry department and Friends of Trees along with Meadow Homes resident Amy Wong. Eight trees were planted, and more trees are scheduled to be planted this weekend.
