No contest
We received a press release today from the city of Vancouver that the city is looking for a cover photo for the next “Cycling the Cities” bicycle map.
The full press release is below, but the meeting mavens don’t think this is even a contest. Obviously this classic pic of Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt and Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart should be the winner.
We’ve blogged about it before but we’ll take any opportunity to run the photo as many times as possible. So here they are, our nominees for the cover:

Contact: Jennifer Campos, Senior Planner, 360-487-7728, Jennifer.Campos@cityofvancouver.us
The City of Vancouver Long Range Planning Department in partnership with Bad Monkey Bikes, Board, and Skate is offering a chance to have your photo on the next cover of the City’s bicycle map. The City is preparing to update its ‘Cycling the Cities’ bicycle map and complete the fourth print run of the map since it was first developed in 2006.
We are looking for your photos of what bicycling in Vancouver means to you. The City will pick a winning photo and nine runner-up photos that will be displayed at the grand opening of Vancouver’s new City Hall on September 17, 2011, from noon to 3 p.m. at 415 W. 6th Street. The winning photo will then be used for the cover of the next bicycle map. Each individual is allowed three photo entries and the photo must be taken within the City of Vancouver city limits.
The winner of the contest will receive a $50 gift certificate from Bad Monkey Bikes, Board, and Skate and a $50 Visa cash card. Both the photo contest and printing of the bicycle maps are made possible through a federal grant to encourage bike riding and other alternative modes of transportation.
For more information about the contest go to www.cityofvancouver.us/bike and to submit your photos, contact Jennifer Campos at jennifer.campos@cityofvancouver.us.
