Gettin’ jiggy wit it

This fall we’ll find out who of eight local celebrities has two left feet when they try to out-tango each other in Dancing with the Local Stars.

The Fort Vancouver National Trust unveiled this year’s contestants for the fundraiser with this poster:

The stars are paired with a dance instructor and receive free lessons from Arthur Murray Dance Studios. They’ll perform at an event Sept. 10 at Pearson Air Museum.

The winner is the dancer who raises the most money, not the one who wows the crowd with their fancy footwork. Last year’s winner of the competition was Vancouver City Councilor Larry Smith.

Each dancer has a bio and nice photo on the event’s website http://www.fortvan.org/stars.

But we thought we would dig up photos that show a bit more … personality.

First up is Albert Angelo III with the Al Angelo Company. Here he is showing us his biker side:

Next is Gilda Ciraulo with Westby Associates, Inc. She’s also the First Lady of Battle Ground. Here she is using a cute puppy to garner support, and dollar bills, on her quest to become queen of Dancing with the Local Stars:

The next contestant is Rod Cook, owner of Alpine Auto Body. Here he is in a 2001 Columbian photo after he opened Body Armor:

Next up is Jason Hudson with Waste Connections, Inc. Mr. Hudson utilizes privacy settings on Facebook so this is the best we could do:

The next Local Star is Paul Montague III, who was recently named Executive Director of Identity Clark County. Montague is usually behind the camera lens, but we managed to find this great shot of the ladies man:

Next up is Tina Olson, a longtime volunteer with Clark County Executive Horse Council’s Adopt-A-Horse program. Here she is with her fingers in a horse’s mouth in a 2001 Columbian photo:

Jennifer Rhoads with First Independent will also compete for the Dancing crown. When she’s not volunteering she masquerading as a cat:

And, finally, we have D’Alene White, a probation counselor for Clark County Juvenile Court. Here she is (left) in a 2000 Columbian photo with Debbie Wallace and the board game they created, Take Stock:
