There’s at least one guy in the world that notices when a lady gets her hair done — Vancouver Police Chief Cliff Cook.

Twice over the last year I’ve tweaked my hair color from blond to slightly darker and redder, and then again last week to a twinge lighter.

Both times, I’ve gotten a few remarks from coworkers and others who see me regularly.

But Cook, passing me in a parking lot this winter, slowed to remark on the change. It was also the first thing he brought up when I showed up for an interview this week.

His response to my shock: “I’m a cop. I’m supposed to notice these things.”

Watch out perps.
