Camshougal: The new hot couple

City officials in Camas and Washougal are heading to the drawing board to resolve the funding shortfall for their joint emergency medical services operation.

The two cities are also exploring a fire services consolidation and currently share a port and chamber of commerce. The firefighters unions for the two cities merged years ago. And city officials have also mentioned other possible consolidations, like parks maintenance and operations.

All that talk of joint ventures got folks in the newsroom pondering the important questions, like “If the cities of Camas and Washougal merged, what would the name of the new city be?”

So in honor of Brangelina and Tomkat, here’s a list of possible names for the new Camas-Washougal — or Washougal-Camas.
