Beyond the Voter's Guide
The voters’ pamphlet for the Aug. 7 primary has been mailed and ballots will be sent out this week.
Depending on where you live, among the items on your ballot may be a race for Clark County commissioner.
Here’s a map showing the three commissioner districts. Steve Stuart represents District 3, and he was re-elected in 2010 so he won’t be up for re-election until 2014.
Articles about the District 1 race and the District 2 race ran last week, but if you want to hear straight from the candidates you can go to CVTV.

You can also click here for a link to a commissioner candidates’ forum at the Vancouver Community Library that was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Clark County and the Vancouver Neighborhood Alliance.
And if you want to pose a question, one place to find at least eight of nine candidates will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at the Hockinson Fire Station, 17718 N.E. 159th St. (Wertz, who didn’t attend the library forum, has yet to accept the invitation). The forum is sponsored by the Greater Brush Prairie Neighborhood Association, and topics will include annexation and land development.
