B.G. councilman goes his own way
The other day I was writing about the brouhaha concerning a portion of the Cedars neighborhood in Brush Prairie being annexed and the Fleetwood Mac classic “Go Your Own Way” popped into my head.
Yes! Fleetwood Mac! There’s no shame in my soft rock game.
The inspiration for Fleetwood Mac popping into my head was none other than Battle Ground councilman Paul Zandamela.
He rejected the annexation proposal June 6 because the overwhelming majority of residents opposed the move. In doing so, he had been among the minority on the Battle Ground City Council.
Since speaking with Zandamela, I have reported that the applicants for the annexation proposal don’t have the necessary amount of signatures to bring it before a council vote. The annexation is in limbo, for now.
However, Zandamela’s comments once I put the pen down stuck with me. He made sure I knew he did not care if other council members invited him over for dinner, and that he wasn’t taking donations for his reelection bid against challenger Adrian Cortes.
Win or lose this fall, Zandamela promises to go his own way. I wonder if he likes Fleetwood Mac. Maybe I’ll ask him next time I talk to him. Or not. (Oh! The intrigue!)
