And 2012's Biggest Momma's Boy Is…
We’re so happy there was even a sash.
We wrote about the “Salute to Moms” event on May 12 to benefit CDM Services, and pondered who among a banner list of elected officials and veryimportantpeople would earn the title of “2012 Mommas Boy.
In competition to be the best boy: Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt, Battle Ground City Councilor Mike Ciraulo; Identity Clark County President Paul Montague; Riverview Bank VP Kim Capeloto; former Vancouver City Councilor Mike Wilson; and event sponsor Pacific Office Automation’s Nick Pfeifer.
And Paul Montague came out the winner. We think it was the shorts/pink bow tie combo that had the buyers comin’ hither.
From organizer Kay Kirwan-Martin, who emailed us the results. (And is also pictured with Montague up top):
“The event raised $8,500 for CDM Services. Our charming Momma’s Boys were hugely successful, raising a total of $1,855.
The big winner was Paul Montague with $595, followed by Mike Wilson with $350 and Kim Capeloto in 3rd with a total of $300. The boys did a great job selling roses and schmoozing with over 100 ladies! We will definitely do this event again next year and I’m already starting to “book” our Momma’s Boys for 2013. Paul has set the bar pretty high – who can beat him? Any suggestions?”
So what say you? Who would you put in the running for the 2013 Momma’s Boy of the Year? Clearly the current office holders — Ciraulo, Leavitt, we’re looking at you two! — were too busy glad-handing to sell their roses!
Also, all these photos are courtesy Aveum Images, and snagged shamelessly from Montague’s Facebook page.
We can’t help closing with this shot of Ciraulo and his wife Gilda. He might not have taken the Momma’s Boy sash, but he’s clearly got the top ticket with her.
