News and commentary of Osama bin Laden’s death flooded the Internet, TV stations and social media websites Sunday night.

Battle Ground Mayor Mike Ciraulo (Ciraulo is the training division chief for Clark County Fire & Rescue, Clark County Fire District 6 and Vancouver Fire Department):
“Good news tonight. I am still haunted by the thought of the 343 Firefighters who lost their life nearly 10 years ago on 9/11. Justice may be served, but I hope we all never forget those brave men who ran into those towers to save nearly 10,000 lives.” posted at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Vancouver City Councilman Larry Smith (Smith is a retired Army colonel):
“God Bless Special Operations and Navy Seal Team 6. I hope killing Bin Laden makes a positive difference in the World on Terror.” posted at 7:45 a.m. Monday.

Vancouver City Councilman Jack Burkman:
“As Mark Twain said, ‘I never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.’” posted at 11 a.m. Monday.

Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart:
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have been personally impacted by the most notorious mass murderer in my lifetime. May they find some sense of peace and closure in Bin Laden’s death.” posted at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Battle Ground Councilman Alex Reinhold:
