Could it really be? 80 degrees?
Wake up everyone! Can you believe what you have read and heard lately? Could it really reach 80 degrees this weekend in the Portland / Vancouver metro area? Indeed, much warmer weather is on the way. Models have a pretty solid lock on the idea of the warmest weather of the year coming to a city near you this weekend. It may be brief, but it will happen at just the perfect time for rain soaked Pacific Northwest residents. After yet another record cold and wet month (May), June looks like it will start off warm and dry after a few scattered showers and thunderstorms today and again Thursday. By Friday, a ridge of high pressure will begin to build over the Pacific Northwest. On Saturday, the low level onshore flow will abate and something we have not seen in a long time will once again appear – the sun! This will be just in time for the Star Light Parade in downtown Portland Saturday night. Many past parades have been marked by rain and cold temperatures. Not this year! Sunday looks like it will be pleasant as well, but a tad cooler than Saturday. Many Pacific Northwest residents are lacking Vitamin D from the sun this spring. This weekend will be exactly what the doctor ordered! My advice = get outside and soak it all up! We really do need it!
Stay tuned!
