Former senator Pridemore has left the ‘Couve
Things are looking up for former Democratic state Sen. Craig Pridemore, who was dealt a tough blow in the 2012 elections. He decided to leave his 49th District lawmaking post to run for state auditor, but he was edged out in the primary.
Since then, he’s moved to Olympia to become the new finance director of the state Department of Licensing. He started his job in mid March and moved to Olympia at the end of last month, according to an announcement he made on Facebook.
“Pridemore has left the ‘Couve,” he wrote. “I will be keeping my house in Vancouver and hope to return there someday. Most of my friends and family are still there and it will always be my true ‘home.'”
Prior to becoming a politician, Pridemore was finance manager for the Clark County Department of Public Works. He was elected to the Washington state Senate in 2004, and he served as a Clark County commissioner from 1999 to 2004.
Pridemore was succeeded by state Sen. Annette Cleveland, D-Vancouver.
