Builders’ group supports Republicans, Stuart
The Building Industry Association of Clark County released its full list of endorsements on Tuesday.
The BIA’s Board of Directors endorsed all Republicans with the exception of Alan Svehaug, who is running against Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart.
“We are endorsing these candidates because of their strong support of local business,” Tracy Doriot, BIA president, said in the press release. “These candidates have a keen understanding of the many complex issues facing our growing community and more specifically, the important issues affecting our industry.”
Candidates in two non-partisan races received endorsements from the BIA: Nancy Barnes, who is running to keep her position as a Clark Public Utility commissioner, and John Jenkins, who is running for Vancouver City Council.
The BIA of Clark County is a trade association of more than 800 members representing the interests of all businesses involved in land development and construction.
