NRA likes Herrera
No big surprise: state Rep. Jaime Herrera has won the endorsement of the National Rifle Association, which says the Camas Republican’s “solid pro-gun voting record” in the Washington Legislature and her commitment to preserving Second Amendment rights has earned her an “A” rating from its Political Victory Fund.
Among Herrera’s positions cited with approval by the NRA are her support of the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act,” which would extend federal protection of state right-to-carry licenses across state borders, and her support for repeal of the Washington, D.C., gun ban. Repeal of the ban would, in the NRA’s words, “restore the right of self-defense with firearms to law-abiding residents of our nation’s capital.”
